Radio Blog!

This post on Thinklings about favorite cover songs prodded me into finally getting this Radio.Blog thing going.

One cover song I really like is the band Self's cover of the Doobie Brothers' "What a Fool Believes". The song is from their CD Gizmodgery, an album in which the songs are performed entirely with toy instruments.

Anyway, I'm using this song and this blast from the past* to kick off my Radio.Blog!

*"Every Hour Here" from the CD Umbrella by The Innocence Mission.

If you really want to go nuts, you could try Andromeda. Man is that a cool script. I'd probably use it if I ever set up a LAN for whatever new place I end up in.

BTW, instead of banning the search bots, maybe you could just remove any keywords that would bring in the dirty search pervies to the site. I've actually had little problem mainly because I've been conscious of any possible keyword that could bring in these dopes.

Of course, my htaccess file is a thing of beauty now, tied to little server includes sprinkled here and there on my site that act as virtual minefields. Man is it fun to watch the bad bots get 403'ed off the server whenever they mistakenly execute those includes. Heh.

Am I a geek or WHAT??? :-O

Mac,

That Andromeda thing looks kinda neat!

I try to obfuscate certain works that I think might draw the perv searchers, but I don't like to do that in every situation...especially if I'm quoting someone.

Besides, blocking search bots from my archives will give me a better idea of who is actually reading this thing.

That's true, though I'd think I go to pieces if I ever had to block Goolge from coming in and dancing around. We're such good buds these days. :-)
