You know what?

I'm starting to get really, really tired of these arrogant judges.

Let me make a prediction. Some of my fellow pro-lifers will offer up this as "proof" that President Bush hasn't done anything to advance the pro-life cause. They will moan and whine about how ineffectual Bush is on this issue and how they aren't going to vote for him, while not offering a damn thing as an alternative. (Well, they might recommend voting for some whack-job third-party candidate, or sitting out the election, but those aren't realistic options. They may as well go vote for Kerry.)

Clinton, the man who vetoed the PBA ban twice, appointed this latest judge who ruled against the PBA ban. Appointing judges is one very important thing the President does that has lasting effects after he leaves office. All of you pro-lifers who complain that President Bush "doesn't do enough" need to keep that in mind before you childishly hold your breath, sit on your hands, and refuse to vote for him because he doesn't fit your idea of perfection.

(Strange...I started out wanting to rant about judges and ended up ranting about my fellow pro-lifers. How did that happen?)

Ahh, I emerge from the shadows of lurkage to echo your sentiments exactly.

To be honest, I think that the signing of the PBA bill into law was a huge step despite all these radical groups trying to stop the bill and get it thrown out in court.

To argue that you would go ahead and vote for Kerry (or another candidate) just because of this is insane.

I can only say that I hope to God that this will be overturned in the S.C. (as most of these rulings by all of these wacko judges are).

If anything, this should wake us up to realize exactly the threat that faces us (and our values and morality) in this day and age. It should embolden us to go out and fight harder and harder for the President's campaign to make sure that he is re-elected!

Ok, sorry for the rant! Please continue to go on with your wonderful weblog! :)

Hi Todd,

No need to apologize for ranting...and thank you for your kind words about my site! :-)

I think some pro-lifers are being very forgetful and ungrateful. I've seen several people on other blogs rant about how bad Bush is and how they're not going to vote for him because he isn't perfect enough for them. I'm just tired of that whole attitude because it's so self-defeating.

Exactly!

I mean sure, at times, there has been issues I felt that he could of taken a stronger stance on (or that he shouldn't of taken a stance on), but that doesn't take away from the enormous amount of respect I have for him. Consider this, too. It is an election year, so everything he attempts to do will be highly scrutinized by the media and the liberal left.

Besides, how anyone could entertain the notion of voting for John Kerry is beyond me when he's already stated that he'll appoint ONLY pro-murder judges to the Supreme Court. Seems to me that that is a step in the wrong direction. :)

I'm just glad to see someone else who shares my frusteration at the lack of patience from conservatives! I'm confident, now more then ever, that the left are trying to split the conservative base in half to damage the Presidents chances at re-election.

That could also be my extreme paranoia though! :)

(Geez, I should get my own weblog and quit filling yours up with my junk, huh? *lol*)

Todd,

Bush has done some things that I disagree with as well. However, as far as social issues and the War on Terror go, he's the only realistic choice. Nobody is going to be perfect, so you go with the best choice who has a realistic chance of winning.

I agree totally with the judges issue, and think the Republican Senate is letting the Democrats get away with a lot of wrongdoing with regard to using the judiciary to influence court cases as was recently leaked in the memos. Unfortunately, the Democrats, along with a sympathetic press, are hiding the issue from the public. The Republicans really need to stand up for themselves better on this case, and Orrin Hatch has not shown leadership on this. We need leadership, not compromise.

Hi Joel,

I'm with you there...the Republican Senate has done an awful job when it comes to standing up to the Democrats. Orrin Hatch seems more concerned with being Ted Kennedy's buddy than standing up for what's right.

Susan,

I think that's because it has been so long since the GOP has been in power that they can't quite get the hang of it. They can't quite seem to figure out how to break a filibuster or control the activist judges, and I guess that's because they aren't used to having that responsibility. I hope that by Bush's second term the GOP has gotten things under control; maybe then we can get something done.

"Well, they might recommend voting for some whack-job third-party candidate, or sitting out the election, but those aren't realistic options. They may as well go vote for Kerry."

I totally agree.

And I'm so annoyed by those who are very pro-life, and otherwise socially conservative, who have become so anti-Bush and anti-Republican.

Neo,

Here's hoping the Republicans will get their act together in Bush's second term. (And I pray there'll be a second term!)

TulipGirl,

Me too...it's something that really irks me and that I've complained about on this blog before. I think some of my fellow social conservatives are their own worst enemy.
