Thank you, Lawren! :-)
Yes, it's about time for me to buy some new clothes. I have a lot of clothes that I got too fat for, and now I'm able to wear them again. I've got my fat jeans packed up -- I need to either give them to charity or sell them at a consignment shop.
Congrats! I know that's a tough thing to accomplish - especially when you hit that plateau. Well done sticking with it.
Thank you, Jen! I think what got me through the plateau was that I thought, "Even if I never lose another pound, I'm better off at this weight than where I started from." I am determined to never go back.
Go you too! that is soooo fabulous. Good idea too to pack up your fat clothes, no way are you going to let yourself buy all those big sizes again.
Congratulations!
An idea - might work, might not - find other people who are also losing weight, preferably people who are diligent with it, some ahead of you, some behind, and swap clothes when it's time for a new fit.
Amy attends a support group for bariatric patients and they run a clothing exchange. It's probably saved us a couple of hundred dollars in the last year.
(Did I ever mention that I lost ten pounds in less than two weeks just by traveling to China? an expensive way to lose some weight but it worked - except I need to lose ten more to satisfy my doctor's demands)
Thank you, Uptown Girl & Havdala! :-)
Joel, that is a really good idea. I already have had people give me clothes since I started losing weight. I'm reluctant to buy new clothes that I won't be able to wear when I lose another 20 lbs., so that has been very helpful to me.
When I have traveled before, I was so out of my element that I just didn't want to eat much. So I would always lose a few pounds when I traveled.
Congrats, Susan, that is just excellent, and I admire your determination
