Regarding this (found via Conservative Grapevine via Relapsed Catholiic):

Well, that's all right for you, but I'd rather not do the former, if you don't mind. That's the problem with you pacifists -- you want to drag everyone else down with you and deny them the right to self-defense. And I won't even comment on the laughable and blasphemous "Cindy is better than Jesus" statement.

Also, one more random thought: if Bush is such a dictator, a fascist and a Hitler, like the moonbats say, then why are Cindy Sheehan and her group free to protest near the President's home in Texas? Why aren't they in prison? Why haven't they been executed? Dictators imprison and execute their political opponents. Just because you don't agree with someone doesn't make them a dictator or a fascist or a Hitler.

And while on the Sheehan subject, I recently ran across this blog: Sweetness & Light. It is dedicated to examining the Cindy Sheehan circus and the way the media is hyping it.

Not to mention that the people who say these kinds of things have no concept of what slavery is like. Try having your feet and knees nailed to a board, and these people might be singing a different tune.

Most of the left fit the description of paranoids, who project their own evil thoughts on another, in this case Bush (which is why psychiatrist Charles Krauthammer calls it "Bush derangement syndrome"...
Now, I lived in Zimbabwe when they had a terrible government...and you could be deported or jailed for criticizing the government...and nowadays, the present dictator is descending into a similar crackdown on human rights, the only difference is that there was no massive starvation under the apartheid Smith regieme...
However, as one who has lived overseas much of my life, I might add that even Mugabe is not the worset...nor are the Saudis, who routinely jail my Filipinos for having church services or possessing rosaries...
the worst dictatorships and tyrants control their news so strictly that the PC press doesn't even report the atrocities...
So that when I see on CNN that their "reporter" will visit North Korea and show the "real" north korea, I wonder...if he will forget to report the atrocities, like the CNN reporters overlooked under Sadam Hussein...

Barb and Nancy,

Both of you are absolutely right. The very people saying these things are pampered whiners who have never experienced any real oppression in their lives. They have no idea what true slavery is. (And as Barb pointed out, Jesus, being truly man and truly God, experienced the ultimate oppression and slavery on our behalf.)

Perhaps their lives really suck. Well, it is so much easier to blame everything on the President than the person staring back at you in the mirror. Because doing the latter might actually demand that you think about the kinds of decisions you've made and do something about it.

But there are people in the world (and in our own country, due to Hurricane Katrina) who undergo true suffering. Whether the suffering is caused by a dictator or a natural disaster, it is these people who deserve help and compassion. Not a bunch of paranoid whiners with an undeserved sense of entitlement.
