The thing is, women who live in radical Islamist societies can't win either way because they are considered subhuman. If she hadn't defended herself and her niece, they would have been raped and then probably executed for "adultery". However, she kills a rapist while defending herself and her niece and they are trying to execute her for that. Unbelievable.

I know, Susan. Women have no chance period there. I think we should offer to trade Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Gloria Steinem, etc for any and all women in those Islamic law countries and countries like India where girl babies are still being killed because they can't support their families when they grow up, and because of insane dowry requirements. At least some Chinese girls are being saved by being adopted to the US. I think the only thing that will really help is close to what we are dong right now in Iraq and Afghanistan. Only the Democrats are looking hard for a way to put a stop to it. With the support of so-called feminists.

Oh how I would love to trade that lot and a bunch more I can think of for truly oppressed women living under Sharia. Of course the cause-du-jour for feminist blogger outrage is not Nazanin's case but rather this. Damned tools of the Patriarchy(tm) telling women to stay healthy in case they have a baby someday!
