Blogroll Changes in Progress

I'm currently in the midst of making significant changes to the blogroll. I'm getting rid of defunct blogs, blogs I don't read and blogs I just can't stand anymore. There are a few blogs I added because the blogger asked for a link. I don't link bloggers because they request it anymore, so if the blog doesn't interest me, it's gone. Also, I'm adding a few new blogs. Some of the blogs/bloggers who I can no longer stand are being replaced by a blog or two that's diametrically opposed to them. These bloggers probably won't even notice and it doesn't matter if they do or not. I know about it, which is all that matters.

Anyway, it's a work in progress. I'm not going to have any more than 50 blogs in the roll and I will try to make it shorter than that if I can.

Comments

thanks for keeping me on the roll.
I sadly need to do that kind of housekeeping myslef! but my new job and the move are taking up most of my not so spare moments.

Hi Alicia,

I've been trying to get some of the blog housekeeping stuff done in bits. I put it off for a long time because I was having problems with the site being very slow. It seems to be okay, now.

I know you are in the middle of a move and I saw that you started posting again, so of course I'm keeping you on the roll. There are several others who I will link again in a heartbeat when and if they start posting again.

Well, we appreciate the heck out of making the list! Merci and have a lovely weekend! {:^)

Hi THS,

It's my pleasure to link you guys. I like your blog and how could I not link fellow Pensacolians (even if you do prefer Dunkin Donuts over Krispy Kreme). ;-)

BTW, did you feel the big "boom" in the area last night around 6:30pm? The paper says they don't know what caused it and it was felt in Santa Rosa county and Baldwin county in AL as well. My mother and I felt it and I yelled to her in the other room, "What the hell was that?" when it happened. She thought it might be a plane breaking the sound barrier. If it wasn't, maybe it was a little earthquake.

I'm glad I'm still on your blogroll too, Susan! And I found the latest post on Coalition of the Swilling hilarious, even though sad for Florida. ;)

Hi Barb,

I saw that too...I thought it was hilarious! :-D

FELLOW Pensacolains!? Color me "WOW!!" (We're West Siders ~ are we still speaking?{8^P) So when and how'd ya stumble across us?

And oh yeah, we were rumbling, too! major dad and I looked at each other, swooped outside, shared "did you feel THAT?''s with other neighbors...and then snorted at WEAR's little website note. NObody's owning up to anything. We ruled out an earthquake right off, since the windows/roof wobbled vice the foundation and it felt like a pressure wave through the house. TRES strange.

Glad ya'll got a hoot out of the video ~ I have to give the Ebola unit credit for finding it. We were howling.

Hi THS,

I live on the west side too. (You may not remember, but we "spoke" in Andrea's comments a few months ago. That's how I found you guys.) My Mom, who remembers experiencing an earthquake when my family lived in California, said it didn't feel like one to her. (I was about two years old then, and while I have a few memories of California, I don't remember the earthquake.) It did seem like it was coming from up above rather than below. Somebody commenting at the PNJ website linked to this story, which claims it was caused by two planes breaking the sound barrier.

A HAH! THAT's where you seemed familiar! Woo HOO!! (I'm blonde ~ it's my only excuse.)

Unfortunately, we did 12 1/2 years in SoCal and a couple BIG ones. We are aware of precisely WHAT the dining room light fixture should do during a quake and this wasn't it. Not to mention the fact that my ears have never once popped in one. This was very peculiar.

So, since I clicked thru your link to the fishwrap ONLY to lose all my hard thought comments, I'm going to hunt that story down independently. And am I (and major dad) blind or was there truly nothing IN the paper itself? If it was, where? We (so we thought) scoured the dang front and local sections.

Pooh. And TWO PLANES no one knows about in a sonic pas de deux?

I think not.

Hi THS,

It was in the actual paper...it was, I think, the second item on the left sidebar on the front page.

My family moved between here and California several times before finally staying here from the time I was three onward. (I was born here, too.) My Dad was born in the Los Angeles area (as was my sister), but we were living in northern California (Santa Rosa) when the earthquake happened. My Mom says I slept through it. :-)
